Christi Dawn Drummond, age 59, of Sachse, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 22, 2026, surrounded by love, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Christi was born on July 31, 1967, in Garland, Texas, to Earl and Mary Drummond. She graduated in 1985 from Garland High School. Christi worked at Automatic Products in Garland for many years. She then went on and worked as an administrative assistant at North Garland High School. At the time of her passing, Christi was employed at Big D Pest Control in McKinney. In 1999, Christi married William Frank Vaughan, and together they shared 12 wonderful years.
One of Christi’s greatest gifts was her ability to create something beautiful from almost nothing. She had a natural eye for beauty and an incredible imagination. Give her a few flowers, some simple decorations, or an empty table, and somehow she could transform it into something special.
Christi especially loved arranging flowers. She had a way of bringing together colors, textures, and little details that made every arrangement uniquely hers. She was also a wonderful party planner who could take an ordinary gathering and turn it into something memorable. Her decorations, table settings, and homecoming mums made for the high school girls she loved, were always beautiful, thoughtful, and filled with the little touches that made each one unique and unforgettable. No one at the high schools had a mum like the ones Christi made. With her attention to detail, she created something special that reflected the person wearing it. For Christi, creating beauty was more than a hobby—it was a way she expressed her love. She poured her creativity and her heart into everything she made, whether it was a mum, floral arrangement, a beautifully decorated table, or a celebration for the people she loved. She truly had a gift for taking something simple and turning it into something beautiful.
Christi also enjoyed her country music, especially the music of Conway Twitty and Alan Jackson. Of all the things Christi accomplished in her life, nothing meant more to her than her family. Her greatest joys were her daughter, Chastity, and her son, Cade. Then, one by one, her grandchildren came into her life and captured an even greater piece of her heart. They brought her immeasurable love, pride, and happiness, and she cherished every moment she was given with them.
Christi is survived by her daughter, Chastity Barczykowski (Caleb); her son, Cade Vaughan; brother, David Drummond (Camille); sister, Debbie Kelly; nieces, Megan (Will) and Faith Drummond; nephew, Brandon Kelly; and her parents, Earl and Mary Drummond. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Chloe, Harlynn, Jackson, Wyatt, Tessa and Archer who were among the greatest blessings of her life.
She was preceded in death by her stepson, Billy Vaughan, her former husband, William Vaughan, and niece, Leathia “Sissy” Kelly. Christi will be remembered for her creativity, her love of flowers and music, her generous spirit, and most of all, the many lives she touched along the way. Though her time here was far too short, the love she gave will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
