Cecil Allen Walker, age 75, of Garland, Texas, entered peacefully into the arms of his Savior on Monday, September 29, 2025.
Known to most simply as Allen, he was born on June 5, 1950, in Hopkins County, Texas, to Luther and Helen Walker. He graduated from Miller Grove High School in 1968 and soon after married the love of his life, Mary Campbell of Sulphur Springs. Together, they shared 57 years of devotion, partnership, and faith.
Allen proudly served his country in the Texas Army National Guard from 1971 to 1976. In 1979, he and Mary began attending Victory Baptist Church in Rowlett, where Allen trusted Christ as his Savior. In 1992, they joined Rodgers Baptist Church of Garland, where Allen faithfully served for more than three decades as a trustee and as a church van driver, joyfully bringing children to Sunday School. His quiet dedication and steady service reflected his deep love for the Lord and others.
Allen built a long and respected career, working 28 years at Johnson Controls, followed by 10 years at GNB in Carrollton, and 20 years at Valspar Paint Company. Even after retirement, he continued serving others by mowing lawns for church members and friends—work he genuinely enjoyed.
A man of many interests, Allen loved Southern Gospel music, drag racing, and cheering for the Dallas Mavericks. Above all, he treasured time with his family, who were the center of his life. His quiet strength, steadfast presence, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Allen is survived by his devoted wife, Mary; his children, Carl (Tara) Walker and Renay (Lucas) Wambsganss; and his four grandchildren, Tyler, Cody, Claire, and Jaxon, who brought him immeasurable joy.
