Carla Kay Tapp

Carla Kay (Mitchell) Tapp, 73 years, of Garland, TX. passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026 in Dallas, TX. She was born May 21, 1953 to Calvin Leroy & Margie Nell Mitchell

She graduated from Garland High School in 1971 and worked at Memorial Hospital of Garland and later for the Garland ISD as a Cafeteria Manager she retired July 1, 2000.

In 1971, she married James Edward Tapp of Somerville, GA. She was known for her love, and kindness to all her family and friends. She loved crocheting and made beautiful rose pillows, & Afghans.

She is survived by Daughter, Sandi Lynn Rosas, and two grandsons, Ricky Espinosa & David Rosas; three granddaughters, Jasmine Nicole Espinosa, Jessica Marie Espinosa & Angel Rosas. And one Sister Pamela Mack. Plus many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, James (Shorty) Tapp; Daughter Christina Leigh Espinosa; Grandson Eric Dalton Rios; Father Calvin Mitchell; Mother Margie Mitchell; Brother Calvin Keith Mitchell; Sister Brenda Gayle Tapp.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services starting at 11 a.m. at Charles Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Tx. With Burial at Sachse Cemetery.
