Bobby Dale Sparkman

Bobby Dale Sparkman was born to Cecil Sparkman and Dorothy (Pack) Sparkman on February 17, 1936 in Cushing, Oklahoma; he went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

Bobby was raised in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School with the Class of 1955. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Chennault Air Force Base in Lake Charles, LA, where he also attended college at McNeese State University. He was united in marriage to Mary Rita Gallardo of Lake Charles, LA, and four children were born to this union.

After moving to the Dallas area, Bobby worked for Collins Radio Group (later Rockwell International) as electronic technician and became Chief Steward of the Local 787 International Union of Electrical, Radio and Machine Workers. He enjoyed playing guitar and listening to bluegrass and country music, and was active in both the Knights of Columbus and Good Shepherd Catholic Church of Garland, TX, and later with Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Richardson, TX.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Dorothy Sparkman, and five brothers Don Sparkman, Jerry Sparkman, Lanny Sparkman, Larry Sparkman, and David Sparkman.

Bobby is survived by his sister Shirley Rogers of Azle, TX, and by his wife, Rita Sparkman, and their four children, including daughter Sandra Sparkman and husband Steven Holler of Tucson, AZ, son Robert Sparkman and wife Kimberly of Plano, TX, daughter Linda Winslow and husband Stephen of Richardson, TX, and son Mark Sparkman and wife Cassie of New Braunfels, TX, nine grandchildren including Kimberly Botha and husband Don, Joshua Letourneau and wife Jessica Withers, Bryan Holler and wife Nicole, Marshall Winslow, Lain Winslow, Ashton Sparkman and wife Ashley, Briana Winslow, Nicholas Sparkman and life partner Michelle Pasha, and Vixen Sparkman and life partner Harrison Bolin, plus eight great-grandchildren including Halo Botha, Chloe Botha, Bloom Withers-Letourneau, Logan Botha, Madison Sparkman, Steven Holler, Michael Holler, and Lukas Sparkman, plus numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral rosary will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. and internment in the church columbarium on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Saint Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Road, Richardson, TX 75081. A reception celebrating Bobby’s life will follow immediately thereafter.
