Betty Jane (Hairell) Belcher, 76, of Rowlett, Texas passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 14, 2026, in Plano, TX. Betty was born on January 23, 1950, in Tishomingo, OK to parents Ludy Hairell and Flora Thompson. She graduated class of 1968, married Billy Belcher in 1972 and moved to Texas.
Betty was a woman of remarkable strength and unwavering will. She was strong-minded, wonderfully stubborn in the best ways, and carried a sense of humor that could brighten even the heaviest days. Her laughter was contagious, and her playful spirit ,especially her unforgettable silly rooster calls ,brought smiles to everyone lucky enough to hear them. She had a gift for making people feel seen and special. Whether through a thoughtful gesture, a kind word, or simply her presence, she went out of her way to remind others that they mattered. She believed deeply that each sunrise was a chance for a new beginning ,a fresh start filled with hope. Betty loved her grand kids, travel and embracing new places and experiences with excitement. She was also incredibly talented with crochet, creating beautiful pieces that will forever be treasured by those who received them. She was beautiful inside and out, kind, generous, and full of life. Her passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of her family and friends. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed. Simply put; there will never be another Betty Jane.
Betty is survived by her husband Billy Belcher; children, Brian Belcher and Brooke Belcher ; grandchildren, Riley, Londen and Braxton; siblings Charles Hairell and Dorothy Wade. Betty was preceded in death by her parents Ludy and Flora Hairell, her brother James Hairell, sister Kathy Hairell Walters, and many more.
A celebration of life will be held to honor her joyful spirit on March 14, 2026, at 2pm at Charles W Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Tx. Flowers may be sent to Charles W. Smith Funeral Home.
